What is Counselling?
A safe space to talk, counselling offers you the opportunity to work through your difficulties with a counsellor who is trained to pick up signals, conscious or unconscious that are effecting your ability to lead a fulfilling life. During therapy you and your counsellor will work together to explore why you feel and behave the way you do in order to create change.
EJ Mindful Counselling & Psychotherapy offers integrative therapy including Psychodynamic & Person centred therapy for individuals with a range of issues. Including:

Every individual client works differently but a lot of people have a hard time getting in touch with their emotions in a healthy way and often the root cause of problems is blocked by the mind's (sometimes useful) defenses; These can manifest in ways clients do not
recognise but are causing problematic difficulties in their life.
I like to work creatively, communicating with the unconscious and if it suits the client, practicing guided visuals and meditations. This can help bring the unconscious to the conscious and give us a better understanding of uncovered issues. It can also help with many mental health issues by use of mindfulness.
Initially there will be a free phone consultation to assess which therapeutic way forward would best suit you individually, this enables for you to explore any concerns over what counselling may involve. I will ask some personal details and explain why I need to this. We can then discuss your goals for counselling and how we can work together.

I am a qualified counsellor registered with the BACP and an up to date DBS check. I have a degree in psychodynamic and person centred counselling with Cognitive Behavioural therapy techniques. I am trained in guided visualisation and meditation with mindfulness skills. I am committed to the emotional health and well being of my clients through a trusting and understanding relationship.
